Cacao Delight Recipe

As spring time settles in, flowers begin to blossom and the days become warmer and longer, the ripening of seasonal fruits inspires new and creative recipes that are sure to please both our bellies and our taste buds!

This recipe is quick, simple and accents and draws upon the natural tastes and flavors present in the few ingredients needed. Think chocolate mousse meets fruit tart delight! This recipe allows for quite a bit of freedom as far as fruit topping choices so get creative and play with your favorite combinations that satiate your sweet tooth. The avocado will serve as the primary base so it is important that they are ripe, flavorful and ready to go.

This will support a rich, moussey texture perfect for taking on the flavors of the other ingredients. The cacao provides the yummy and bitter chocolate taste and the honey is there to use at your discretion for sweetness. The suggested measurements are below but feel free to play with finding the ratio that suits you best. Topping suggestions are also listed below but we recommend incorporating your favorite seasonal fruits within your region and using these to create your masterpiece!

This recipe can easily be divided in half to make a personal dessert size or multiplied to delight your dearest friends at your next get together.

Base Ingredients

  • 4 Large, ripe avocados
  • 1 Tablespoon of cacao powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of organic coconut cream (optional)
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of raw, organic honey

Topping Ingredients

(Sliced and arranged as you’d like! For presentation, we recommend starting from the outside of the bowl in a ring and working your way towards the center, changing to a different fruit topping with each ring)

  • 4-6 Strawberries
  • 1 Mango (cut into cubes)
  • 1 Banana
  • Handful of Raspberries
  • Handful of Blueberries
  • 1 Strawberry cut in half for the center piece
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of Unsweetened Shredded Coconut

Mash up and stir the 4 ripe avocados, blending until smooth (welcome to use a hand blender if desired). If adding: stir in 1 tablespoon of coconut cream Stir in cacao powder until clumps are thoroughly blended Add in and stir honey until texture is thick and creamy


  • Cover and let sit for 20-30 minutes in refrigerator to solidify and cool
  • Slice up desired fruit toppings while base is cooling
  • Remove avocado mix and add toppings (get creative with your design!)
  • Sprinkle on shredded coconut (if desired)
  • Top with light honey drizzle
